Park Details

Rush River Park offers birding and wildlife opportunities because of its "off the beaten track" location.

Rush River Park is maintained by The Friends of Rush River. The Friends of Rush River is a group of private citizens that maintain the park. This nonprofit group relies on donations for the upkeep of the park.

Rush River Park is located 2.7 miles from Henderson (6th Street, 3 blocks to 9th Street - becomes 300th Street, left on Rush River Park Road to Park entrance).

Paper camping permits are no longer required by Sibley County. However, you must call the Sibley County Sheriff's Office at 507-237-4330 to obtain permission for overnight camping.

Friends of Rush River

The Friends of Rush River also host an annual fundraiser to offset the maintenance costs. The annual dance is held the first weekend in March at the Henderson Event Center in Henderson, Minnesota from 8:30 pm to 12:30 am. Contact The Friends of Rush River for more information regarding this event, or check out the Friends of Rush River (FORR) website.
