Statewide Health Improvement Partnership (SHIP)

Sibley County receives funding from the Minnesota Department of Health to work with a variety of partners focusing on community driven solutions to support individuals in making healthy choices in their daily lives; particularly focusing on active living, healthy eating, commercial tobacco-free living and helping Minnesotans prevent chronic diseases.

SHIP funding is available to those who are looking to implement policy, systems or environmental changes in supporting the goals of MN SHIP. The community that surrounds a person includes supports for both physical, social, environmental, social norms, policies, regulations and laws impacts the individual behaviors. Research shows that improving the community around individuals can help support and reinforce healthy behaviors.
